The taste and foam of coffee
Kuba Altura Lavado is an Arabica with a very low acidity. Coffee lovers will be delighted by its balanced, sweet taste, which ends in the spicy tobacco tones so typical of Cuba. The foam is consistent and long-lasting.
Origin of the coffee

To find out more about this plantation coffee, you need to imagine the country it comes from. The Sierra Maestra is one of the most traditional regions for growing Cuban coffee. The mountains in the southeast of the country seem to rise straight up from the ocean. The highest island includes the highest mountain in Cuba, Pico Torquino, at 1974 metres. The Sierra Maestra is famous not only for its mineral deposits, amazing fauna and flora, but also for its rebel struggles. Guerrilla wars have been fought in the local mountains since the 16th century. Fidel Castro hid here after his return from Mexico in 1956. But this sultry atmosphere does not change the fact that the Sierra Maestra has the ideal climate for coffee growing. Coffee has been harvested in Cuba since the mid-18th century, with production peaking in the 19th and early 20th centuries. After the Cuban Revolution of 1959, the coffee industry was nationalised, large farms were broken up and production declined.
All Cuban coffee exports are now under the jurisdiction of Cubaexport, which regulates selling prices.
Coffee beans are harvested from September to January, but most often and in the largest quantities, from October to November. Farmers process the crop by washing. The result of this process is beautifully clean coffee beans, free of coating. Cuban coffee is exported to Japan, France, Germany, Great Britain, Canada and New Zealand. Most interestingly, Cubans can only buy two ounces of coffee every 15 days. Caribbean islands, cigars, rum... What else is there to know about Cuba? That they grow excellent coffee! It is grown by small farmers in the Sierra Maestra mountains in the south-east of the island. As much as ninety percent of Cuba's coffee comes from the dense forest along the banks of the wild rivers of the deep lowlands. It is a beautiful area, protected as a national park. Place of origin:
